Shipbuilding steel plate is used for hull structure, according to the classification societies. Based on the yield strength, shipbuilding steel plate is divided into general strength shipbuilding steel plate, high strength shipbuilding steel plate and ultra high strength shipbuilding steel plate.

General strength shipbuilding steel plate

Owned yield strength 235MPa, the tensile strength 400-520MPa, with 20°C, 0°C, -20°C and -40°C impact test, for different thickness the impact value is 27J, 34J and 41J.

High strength shipbuilding steel plate

With higher yield strength (315-390 MPa) and higher tensile strength(440~660 MPa), the impact test temperature are including 0°C, -20°C, -40°C, -60°C , the impact value becomes more and more higher with the higher grade.

Ultra high strength shipbuilding steel plate

Also named extra high strength ship steel plate, in the limited temperature its mechanical property reach to maximum, applying to the extreme offshore environment.
